Golder’s Elko, Nevada office is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support our US Mine Waste team.

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design leadership for complex multi-disciplinary engineering design projects within the mining industry
  • Hands-on design work including engineering analyses and design drawings/technical report preparation
  • Management of engineering, Construction Quality Assurance (CQA), and laboratory testing staff.
  • Writing design reports, specifications, record of construction reports
  • Program and Business development of our civil engineering, CQA, and geotechnical laboratory testing services in Northeastern Nevada
  • Support development of a strong client base through business development by leading proposals for new work and successful completion of project work
  • Identify, hire, and develop team members to support growth of the office and client base
  • Coordinate staffing of projects with other offices and other technical disciplines, using Golder’s diverse staff of professionals to help client development and project delivery  
     

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  •  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or closely related engineering discipline and 10 years minimum of relevant work experience
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Nevada or currently following career path for licensure
  • A valid passport that allows standard international travel

  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams and manage technical and non-technical staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Experience designing large earthworks and lined waste facilities

  • Understanding of seismic risk evaluations, geotechnical stability analyses, surface water hydrology, pipe and channel hydraulics, and capital cost estimation for mining projects

  • Proficiency in word processing, analytical spreadsheet preparation, and ability to learn a variety of engineering software

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D design software and ability to lead the development of design drawings desirable
