Golder Associates Inc. has an opening for an entry-level hydrogeologist for the Tucson, Arizona office to work as part of the Mine Water team on mining-related environmental and mine water projects. The position consists of providing technical support in various areas, including groundwater investigations, groundwater modeling, aquifer tests, geological logging/well installation, water quality studies, and client development. The position includes field work, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. The successful candidate will also be expected to become familiar with a wide variety of modelling tools currently in use at Golder, including MODFLOW, FEFLOW, and Hydrogeosphere as well as support software such as Excel, Access, Surfer, Tecplot, GoldSim, Leapfrog, etc. Depending on level of experience, responsibilities will also include client liaison, task and/or project management.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients; flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment and the ability to maintain confidential information is required.
Strong understanding of surface water /groundwater interactions and unsaturated zone hydrogeology
Knowledge of modeling software such as Groundwater Vistas and PHREEQC, GIS, Excel, database software, etc., and/or a knowledge of a programming language such as Visual Basic, C++ or Fortran
Proficiency in Spanish.
