    Golder Associates’ continued growth has resulted in the need for a Project Mining Engineer to join our community of high performing engineers, scientists, and business professionals.  Our clients in the global mining industry expect the best from us and you will help us deliver it by providing high‑calibre technical solutions for the development of mineral projects in a safe, cost-effective, and responsible manner.


    You will bring your technical and management strengths to:

    • Demonstrate a “Safety First” focus;
    • Conduct a full range of mine engineering functions;
    • Perform strategic modeling, design and engineering analyses duties, including interactive mine design and sequencing utilizing various mine modeling software packages. This will require working on projects with some supervision;
    • Apply Golder’s Project Management standards to manage all aspects of projects;
    • Work collaboratively with engineers and technical staff to develop the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignments;
    • Maintain a balance of at least 75% chargeable hours;
    • Work as a mentor to junior staff;
    • Learn to identify, develop, and follow through on new business opportunities;
    • Continually apply a high standard of ethical behaviour to promote and support Golder’s Core Values and Culture.

    Job Requirements

    As a key member of the Mineral Project Evaluations Group; you will possess the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering;
    • Registered, or have the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer in Canada or the USA, depending on office location;
    • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with an emphasis on underground hard rock mine planning, design and scheduling. Open pit experience is an asset.
    • Experience as a consulting engineer or with a technical services role within a mining company;
    • Previous experience working on technical mining projects and contributing to technical reports;
    • Appropriate experience in utilizing mine planning, design and scheduling software packages such as Vulcan, Surpac, Deswick, Datamine, Gemcom, MineScape, Whittle, XPAC and Spry;
    • Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) considered an asset;
    • Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills;
    • Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.

    Note:  the successful candidate may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing as required by clients in safety sensitive situations.
