    As a safety-conscious professional; you will bring your technical and managerial strengths in the following areas:

    • Utilize your expertise to conduct a full range of mine engineering functions;
    • Apply Golder’s Project Management standards to manage all aspects of projects;
    • Develop and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignments;
    • Identify, develop, and follow through on new business opportunities;
    • Use your client focus to develop and maintain exceptional relations with clients;
    • Demonstrate a “Safety First” focus and act as a role model to staff;
    • Utilize your exceptional leadership skills to coach, mentor, and develop junior employees;
    • Use your high standard of ethical behaviour to promote and support Golder’s Core Values and Culture.

    Job Requirements

    As a key member of the Mineral Project Evaluations Group; you will possess the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering;
    • Registered, or have the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer in Canada or the USA, depending on office location;
    • A minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience with an emphasis on underground mine planning, design and scheduling. Open pit experience is an asset.
    • Experience as a consulting engineer or with a technical services role within a mining company;
    • Previous experience managing projects and preparing technical reports;
    • Extensive experience in utilizing appropriate mine planning, design and scheduling software packages such as Vulcan, Surpac, Deswick, Datamine, Gemcom (or related);
    • Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) an asset;
    • Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills;
    • Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.In addition, to be successful at Golder you will demonstrate the following competencies: an ownership attitude; a client focus, technical excellence, sound judgement; communication skills; the ability to influence and mentor, innovation, leadership, and well-developed networking skills.Note:  the successful candidate may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing as required by clients in safety sensitive situations.

    Candidates from Montana, Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, South Dakota, Idaho and Utah will be given preference.
