Job Responsibilities

Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Civil Designer for the Denver office. This person will work with a team of engineers and be responsible for providing CAD drafting and design; creating and editing drawings and figures. This person will be working within the following disciplines; mine infrastructure (tailings, heapleach pad, waste rock stockpile design), reclamation, storm-water and surface-water controls, groundwater science, landfill design and remediation, and civil design for power sector and water treatment facilities.


The candidate must have the ability to produce plan sets to include standard drawings and engineering details in accordance with company standards. The work will include extensive civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016\2017. There will be an emphasis on using the most modern and efficient tools within AutoCAD and Civil 3D.


The candidate must be able to:

  • Perform grading and design functions including, but not limited to, problem analysis, design layout, surface generation and manipulation, volumetric calculations, and as-built survey evaluation;
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage production of multiple drawings and multiple projects at the same time;
  • Use good judgment to identify alternatives to assist in the resolution of design problems;
  • Take limited information from the engineers and create high level design packages; and
  • Manage time efficiently which includes planning, organizing, prioritizing, and following through on a variety of tasks to meet deadlines.

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate may also possess some or all of the following skills:

  • BIM experience.
  • Knowledge of other CADD/GIS software that would be considered a bonus; Rev-It, Infraworks, Plant 3D, P&ID, Electrical, ArcGIS, Bentley Microstation.
