Our Mine Water division has an immediate opening for a Senior Hydrogeologist in our Salt Lake City, Utah office with a minimum of 15 years of experience. This individual will lead field and office studies for environmental investigations and operational water management for the mining sector.

 

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Leading and managing field work and field data collection, data interpretation and evaluation, and preparation of technical reports
  • Providing technical expertise for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, development of conceptual site models.
  • Managing project of moderate to high complexity, and writing proposals for new work
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies and clients regarding project delivery and execution

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A strong academic background in hydrogeology, at least a Master’s Degree in environmental science/hydrogeology, geology, geosciences or similar.
  • 15 to 20 years’ experience; with minimum 10 years in consulting practice.
  • Experience in the states of Utah and Nevada related to mine operations and environmental permitting. Similar experience in the Western United States will also be considered an asset.
  • Registered Chartered/Professional Engineer or Member of a related professional body.
  • Demonstrable academic or consulting experience in hydrogeologic testing and analyses in support of mine operations, as well as development and closure.
  • Connected to the mining business, with active contacts and clientele. Experience in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
  • Proactive approach in technical service delivery.
  • Ability to lead and contribute to high performing teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with willingness to work as part of a group.
  • Valid driver’s license; willing to travel.
  • Pass a physical examination as a condition of employment
