Job Responsibilities

The Jacksonville, FL office of Golder Associates Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Industrial Hygienist/Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.  In this role you will provide technical support on a variety of industrial hygiene (IH) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) projects.


Responsibilities include:


  • Conducting field assignments, such as performing industrial hygiene monitoring, noise assessments, asbestos inspections and abatement monitoring, mold inspections and remediation monitoring, indoor air quality assessments, chemical inventory assessments, ergonomics assessments, job hazard assessments and similar assignments.
  • Assisting senior staff in conducting EHS audits and EHS program development. 
  • Preparing technical reports, including documentation of field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
  • Preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports.

This position requires periodic travel within the United States and internationally for work at client sites. This individual should expect to spend approximately 70% of their work time at client sites; each individual trip generally lasts 1 to 5 days for this position. This individual should be able to conduct assessments at industrial facilities, including climbing ladders, walking up stairs, and carrying IH equipment. This individual will work closely with and support senior IH and EHS practitioners and project managers.  Interacting with clients and regulators to meet task and budget requirements is a key to success in this position

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:


  • A Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety Engineering;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications;
  • Familiarity with IH sampling techniques and equipment is strongly preferred;
