Job Responsibilities

Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Landfill Gas Operations Manager for our California Operations to support landfill gas system operations and maintenance, compliance, and engineering projects for clients in the solid waste and power sectors. This position can be located in either the Sunnyvale, CA or Roseville, CA office of Golder Associates Inc. We are an employee-owned company, offering ownership to all employees. Project work requires skills and training pertinent to the planning, development, and management of landfill gas collection and control systems including component/system installation, operation, maintenance, compliance support, and quality assurance. Project sites are located primarily in northern California, with occasional projects located in the greater western United States.

 

This individual will be responsible for the following activities:

 

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance programs of landfill gas to energy and landfill gas control and collection systems in place for multiple client sites;
  • Support gas collection and control system well field evaluations and modifications;
  • Supervise and coach field technicians through daily interactions or as necessary in the operation, maintenance and compliance activities for landfill gas systems, including non-routine, on-call responses;
  • Hire and train field technicians and provide consistent project-specific guidance and oversight;
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair client gas collection and control systems;
  • Inspect and diagnose gas control equipment, using either local relay logic, PLCs or remote SCADA;
  • Perform service quality assurance inspections and audits on at least an annual basis per site, or as needed;
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment, site conditions and regulatory issues;
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations affecting gas collection and control systems;
  • Observe and implement Golder health and safety policies;
  • Manage timely internal and external data reporting and documentation;
  • Manage project/task and subcontract budgets, schedules, and technical requirements and limitations;
  • Interact with the internal compliance and engineering project team members on a routine basis;
  • Maintain routine communication with clients; communicate routinely and when problems and issues arise with the client, compliance specialist, and senior group leader as appropriate;
  • Develop new clients and project sites
  • Support proposal opportunities with scope of work and cost input and prepare proposals in concert with subcontractors and other disciplines;
  • Assist with CQA activities related to landfill gas system construction, expansion, or modifications;
  • Assist with construction/repair task management assignments including scheduling, staff oversight, subcontractor supervision, and other engineering activities as directed; 
  • Understand the purpose of individual tasks and how they relate to overall project objectives.

 

Job Requirements

  • AA or BS degree
  • Minimum 7 years of applicable work experience
  • Competence in basic MS Office suite programs (Word, Excel) and database programs
  • Strong analytical and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and with teams in multiple locations

    Willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands

    Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.

    Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record

    Pass a pre-employment physical including a drug screen 

    Able to work in the field, be out-of-doors, and conduct site walks

  • OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper health and safety training preferred
