    Are you looking for a unique workplace that provides challenge, opportunity, and the ability to become an owner?    If so, Golder  is seeking a well-qualified Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join our Westborough, MA office. This individual will manage environmental projects that involve field studies, report preparation, budget management, and interaction with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and regulators. Projects will include groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling; environmental site assessments and compliance assessments; regulatory permitting; subsurface groundwater modeling and bedrock mapping; hazardous waste site characterization and remediation; and treatment system operation, maintenance and monitoring. Position requires travel and fieldwork. The successful candidate should enjoy identifying new business opportunities and building successful client relationships.   Additional position responsibilities will include the ability to:

     

    • Understand various regulatory environments and associated technical requirements with particular emphasis on the Massachusetts Contingency Plan and other New England State environmental regulations;
    • Evaluate analytical data and identify, develop, and manage the strategic solutions for our clients;
    • Prepare state and federal level reports and other deliverables;
    • Supervise, coordinate, and review/evaluate subsurface investigation activities carried out by junior engineers and scientists including: drilling, soil classification, vapor intrusion investigation, well installation, and sampling of various media using a variety of techniques and procedures;
    • Prepare Phase I environmental site assessments, Phase II contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, and written correspondence with client representatives and regulators;
    • Prepare proposals (scope, schedule, and budget);
    • Simultaneously manage multiple projects through all phases of development;
    • Assist with junior staff mentoring, and team planning and development; and
    • Communicate clearly and consistently the importance of health and safety.

    Job Requirements

    Requirements:

    • B.S. (minimum) in Geology, Environmental Science, similar earth science, or Environmental Engineering, M.S. preferred
    • A minimum of 10 years of environmental project experience, including project management, proposal writing, client contact, and regulatory interaction.

    LSP (strongly preferred), PG, PE, LEP or equivalent licensure considered.

     

    Desirable Skills: The successful candidate should have: 

    • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel. Specialized computer skills including database applications, and/or groundwater and contaminant modeling software desirable;
    • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills;
    • Massachusetts and New Hampshire regulatory experience;
    • Leadership ability with a positive attitude;
    • Ability to work independently and within groups;
    • Team management skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders; and
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training
