    Golder is now offering a great opportunity for an entry level Field Technician or Field Engineer/Geologist to join our operations as part of a team on civil, geotechnical, or environmental related projects. In this role you will have the opportunity travel and work in various sites primarily in the Southeast, but nationwide and/or international travel may be required. Under the direction of Golder’s professionals, your duties will include but not be limited to:


    • Monitoring on site activities to;
    • Document work activities, quantities and equipment used and conditions at the job site;
    • Verify and enforce compliance of construction operations and materials with the project documents (permits, drawings, technical specifications, etc.);
    • Review and document work modifications made in the field to be added as part of the final project record documents;
    • Provide quantity verifications for contractor progress payments;
    • Sampling and testing activities as required by the Project Documents;
    • Performing field laboratory tests on geotechnical (soils, aggregates, & rock) materials, geosynthetics (plastics), and concrete to various standards (i.e. ASTM & AASHTO);
    • Shipping, receiving, logging, handling, storage of and disposal of samples;
    • Cleaning, maintaining, repairing and calibration of field laboratory testing equipment
    • Attending all job-related meetings;
    • Assuring that health & safety and quality on the assigned projects is maintained and followed (i.e. tailgate meetings, etc.);
    • Updating Project Manager/Director, client and other team members on a regular basis; and
    • Performing other related duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • A college scientific degree is required. An engineering or geology degree is preferred.
      • Experience will also be considered in lieu or in addition to a college degree.
    • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
    • Incumbents must have the ability to travel for an extended period and work overtime hours (including evenings and weekends).
    • The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, possess problem solving abilities and keen mathematical and analytical aptitude.   The ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while maintaining strict quality standards is a must.
    • Being able to repair and maintain field laboratory testing equipment. Lifting of heavy (i.e. 25 to 75 lbs.) containers (buckets, boxes, tubes, etc.) of various sizes.
