Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Sr. AutoCAD Designer to support the Tucson, AZ office.


The successful candidate will be expected to:


Work with the various engineering disciplines including process, mechanical & piping, structural, civil,

electrical & instrumentation and provide engineering 2D and 3D (not required, but a plus) drafting and

design services.

  • Prepare engineering plans, profiles, sections and details, for design, tender, construction and as constructed drawing sets; and figures for proposals, reports and presentations,
  • Compile and/or Model 3D surfaces representing features such as graded terrain, tailings depositions, haul roads, dams, open pits, quarries, landfills, channels and ponds.
  • Possess a strong understanding of mine infrastructure especially mills, concentrators, pump stations, thickeners, cyclones, screens, tanks, pipelines, etc.
  • Experience in Pipeline design and mechanical plant design and layout.

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 10 years (minimum) experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Civil 3D
  • Certification or Diploma from an accredited Technical School or College in CADD/Engineering Technology, or equivalent and relevant working experience.
  • Experience with studying scope of work documents & produce basic drawings and material take-offs (MTOs).
  • Experience with checking drawings, i.e., reviews and check the work of junior draftsperson to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to issuance of drawings for construction and bill of materials (BOM) for procurement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills,
  • Very strong organizational skills and detail-oriented,
  • Good problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions,
  • Strong sense and commitment to CAD standards and procedures,
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and respond to the needs of several people,
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure,
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
