    Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Geologist to join our team of professionals in Richmond, VA.  In this role you will have opportunities to use your knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, physics, etc. to provide world-class consulting services to a variety of clients.


    Your primary responsibilities will include: 

    • Performing field work, data collection, data interpretation and evaluation;
    • Perform office-based data review and geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards;
    • Perform subsurface field geologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pit explorations;
    • Perform various media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.);
    • Perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards; and
    • Perform data compilation, report writing and other related duties to support a project team.

    Job Requirements

    The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

    • BS in Geology or Hydrogeology required; MS preferred;
    • The candidate must be detail-oriented, and a team player with good communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills;
    • Experience performing soil classifications is required;
    • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are required, along with willingness to work as part of a group;
    • Ability to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment;
    • Exhibit strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other data analysis and database tools is a plus;
    • Performance of work in inclement weather conditions following OSHA requirements;
    • Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during work;
    • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license, be able to drive a company vehicle, willingness and exhibit a willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands which could be upwards of 50% of the time and periodically adjust personal schedules to meet project needs; and
