  • Job Responsibilities


    Golder is interviewing for a Senior Level Geochemist to work with our team in the Lakewood, Colorado USA office and globally. The successful candidate will support hydrogeochemistry-related projects and proposal efforts for the mining industry.


    Responsibilities will include:

    • Participate in a broad range of technical services in the field of aqueous geochemistry including impact assessments, baseline studies, feasibility studies, and water supply development throughout the world
    • Design and conduct field investigations and laboratory testing programs
    • Quantitatively evaluate field and laboratory data using a variety of analytical tools
    • Formulate conclusions and recommendations, and prepare reports and presentations
    • Work under the supervision of technical directors, with the opportunity to rapidly assume increased autonomy and responsibility
    • Prepare proposals in response to client needs
    • Manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work, and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget


    Job Requirements


    The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for hydrogeology and geochemistry, possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, be committed to producing technically excellent work in a client-driven environment, and have the following preferred qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Geochemistry (PhD preferred) with 10+ years’ experience in consulting or equivalen
    • Strong conceptual and quantitative skills in the evaluation of hydrogeochemical systems, with an emphasis on mining pit lakes
    • Experience with industry-standard geochemical modeling codes (GWB, PHREEQC)
    • Proven track record in environmental projects, with an emphasis in mining-related issues
    • Solid communication skills
    • Client management and business development skills
    • Ability to complete high quality work and written reports
    • Specific expertise in quantitative evaluation of acid-rock drainage related to metal mining preferred
